Happy Valley Girl Scout Troop 1246
About Our Troop

VOLUNTEERING !!!
Our Troop is dedicated to learning about and serving our community in the best way that we can.  We have volunteered at Portland's Ronald McDonald House, making cookies for families of sick children.  We have enjoyed carroling during the holiday season at local retirement homes.   We have collected and donated stuffed animals to our local Fire DepartmentWe have also baked cookies for them during the holidays.  We have visited the Oregon Humane Society and in turn, made toys for potential adoptors to play with the cats while in the "cat greet" rooms.  We've also made signs for individual dogs with their information to help get them adopted.  Doing these things help us earn badges, but more importantly, open up our eyes to wonderful ways we can help out our community and make the world a better place.

FIELD TRIPS !!!
In addition to serving our community, our girls work hard during cookie season to earn money for the troop so that we can also enjoy educational field trips and Girl Scout camp.  We've been to OMSI's Almost Overnight program where we learned about Dinosaurs and Comets.  We've been to see Stars on Ice.  We've been to the Oregon Zoo's Almost Overnight program where we were able to go behind the scenes and learn about how the zoo animals are cared for.  We've gone to the Children's Theater and learned about acting and saw a play.  We've gone to Build-A-Bear and to a Little Scoops Ice Cream Party for some well derserved fun as well as a great bowling party at Big Al's Bowl to celebrate the end of cookie season.  As you can see, we do a lot !!
